When Water, Fire, and Storm Damage Happens in Cherokee, We're Ready.

Whether you're looking for restoration, cleaning or construction services in Cherokee, we're here to help 24/7.

When water unexpectedly invades your Cherokee property, the clock starts ticking much faster than most homeowners realize. Structural damage, including compromised subfloors, framing, and drywall, begins to compound significantly after just 72 hours if moisture remains. Simply letting a wet area air dry is rarely sufficient; without professional structural drying, hidden moisture can lead to long-term issues like wood rot, weakened building materials, and persistent odors. Understanding this critical timeline is essential for protecting your investment and preventing more extensive, costly repairs down the line. SERVPRO of Haywood & Transylvania Counties provides rapid, scientifically-backed water damage restoration to mitigate these risks for Cherokee property owners.

Water Damage Restoration in Cherokee, NC

Cherokee properties, particularly those older homes with crawl spaces or basements near the Oconaluftee River, face unique water damage challenges. Heavy rains, common during our spring and summer storm seasons, can quickly overwhelm drainage systems or lead to groundwater intrusion, especially in areas with natural elevation changes. We often see damage from burst pipes in older plumbing systems during winter freezes, or from appliance failures in homes built decades ago. Our water damage restoration process begins with a thorough inspection to identify the source and extent of the damage, using advanced moisture detection equipment to locate hidden saturation. We then extract standing water, followed by commercial-grade drying and dehumidification to remove moisture from structural materials and contents. This rapid response is critical to prevent secondary damage and mold growth, ensuring your Cherokee home or business is returned to its pre-damage condition efficiently.

Fire Damage Restoration in Cherokee, NC

Experiencing a fire at your Cherokee property is devastating, leaving behind not just visible charring but also pervasive smoke and soot residue. Many homes in the area, built in the mid-20th century, often feature wood framing and older electrical systems that can be more susceptible to fire spread. We frequently address damage from chimney fires in properties relying on wood-burning stoves for heat during colder months, or kitchen fires that quickly spread through open-concept living spaces. Our fire damage restoration team responds quickly to assess the damage, secure the property, and begin the complex process of removing smoke and soot from all surfaces. We use specialized cleaning techniques and equipment to eliminate odors and restore salvageable items, including furniture, documents, and electronics. Our goal is to meticulously clean and restore your property, removing all traces of fire damage so you can begin rebuilding your life in Cherokee.

Mold Remediation in Cherokee

The humid climate of Western North Carolina, especially during the long summer months, creates an ideal environment for mold growth in Cherokee properties. Coupled with the prevalence of older homes that may have less-than-perfect ventilation or crawl spaces, mold can quickly become a significant issue after any water event or even prolonged high indoor humidity. We frequently encounter mold in basements, attics, and wall cavities where moisture has been present for an extended period, often exacerbated by the region's frequent rainfall. Our mold remediation process involves containment to prevent cross-contamination, followed by air filtration to capture airborne spores. We then safely remove mold-infested materials, thoroughly clean and treat affected surfaces, and apply antimicrobial agents. Finally, we address the underlying moisture source to prevent future mold growth, ensuring a healthy indoor environment for your Cherokee home or business.

Cherokee, NC, is no stranger to severe weather, and property owners here understand the impact of powerful storms. From the intense thunderstorms that bring flash flooding along the Oconaluftee River to the occasional ice storms that can fell trees and cause widespread power outages in winter, storm damage is a real concern. We've responded to numerous calls after high winds have torn shingles from roofs, heavy rains have caused basement flooding, or fallen trees have damaged structures. Our storm damage repair services begin with emergency board-up and tarping to secure your property from further damage. We then assess the full extent of water, wind, or impact damage, performing water extraction, drying, and structural repairs as needed. Our team works diligently to restore your Cherokee property, helping you navigate the aftermath of nature's unpredictable forces.

I am very grateful to this company. I purchased a property in Canton, N.C., moved in Monday, woke up on Tuesday with a flooded basement. SERVPRO arrived Wednesday morning 9 A.M., went to work cleaning up, sanitizing and making me feel safe. That was most important! Shawn, a young fellow, was knowledgeable and quick. His first comment was "I'm sorry." He was there to help!! I'm not quite through with this catastrophe but SERVPRO definitely got me on the right track! Thanks!

Traci with SERVPRO of Haywood County was excellent to work with. She was on time for meetings, got the estimate to me in a timely fashion, and kept me informed with progress with before/after photos. My step-dad and mama smoked cigarettes in the house for 45 years with doors and windows closed. SERVPRO did an amazing job of cleaning walls, floors and ceilings. There is literally no smoke smell left in the house at all. Highly recommend SERVPRO team. They do an excellent job at a very reasonable price.

Wow- this team is incredible. My late aunt’s house accidentally caught fire shortly after she passed away and the insurance company hired SERVPRO to do the repairs.
Not only did their team sift through a lifetime of charred belongings to see what we could save, they also removed every item in the house so it could be professionally cleaned, organized and stored safely.
Their construction team moved pretty quick, despite supply chain issues and we received regular updates as to where they were at in the process with full transparency.
Tom, the project manager at the time, was exceedingly patient with us. I was liaising the repairs for my cousins who weren’t in a mental space to make any decisions - which lead to me taking the responsibility of choosing things like paint colors and flooring. Tom, the construction team, electricians and plumbers went above and beyond to make the house a home again… I cannot express how grateful I am to the SERVPRO team for being our allies through the process.

Everyone that we encountered, from the clean up crew, to Melissa who managed the inventory side of things, to John and Tom, and even Amber at the office, were incredibly empathetic and wonderful humans throughout the process.

Upon moving in, some things that weren’t working properly needed to be addressed. John sent out a SERVPRO representative almost immediately and the electricians they work with came to the property promptly as well, to address the issues.

I cannot recommend SERVPRO's services enough.

I am so grateful for you guys, thank you for making this house a home again!!!

My mom's house flooded back in September. She called me to let me know what had happened. I live 5 hours away. I called SERVPRO based on a recommendation from a family member who lives in the area. WOW!!!!! What a great choice. John, the owner of the company was there on the first day, and communicated regularly throughout the entire process. This company has been so good from start to finish. They were there almost immediately with vacuums and fans and trucks and personnel to start the removal of water and water damaged stuff. They worked quickly and efficiently to assure that mold did not have time to grow and cause further damage. We decided to take this opportunity to replace other items in the house that were not damaged by water but needed updating. They worked with us to determine the best, most cost and time efficient ways to accomplish what we wanted done. The communication throughout the entire process was impeccable. Todd was the project manager and I could not ask for better customer service. Living 5 hours away, I needed assurance that things would be done when they were supposed to be done. There was NO miscommunication throughout the entire process. We replaced cabinets, countertops, sink, dishwasher, flooring, shower, moved laundry facilities, did plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, and the list goes on. There were several subcontractors used in the process. These subcontractors were held to the same high standards that SERVPRO's own employees are held to. They were on time, stayed late when necessary, work so hard, were professional and polite. I would personally hire any of the companies to do work in my own home. I highly recommend this company!!!!! Hire them. You will not be disappointed.
